Poker Pro Tips and Strategies

Table Selection in B&M casinos is a simple strategy. First, look for the players that you know are losers. Most of the money you win at the poker table is from only one or two bad, or action players. Sitting at the table with a known player is usually profitable. Second, look for the happy table. If the players are having fun, usually they aren't paying strict attention to their poker game. Third look for the table with most money spread out around the table, not concentrated in the stacks of one or two players. Online the table choices aren't quite as apparent. Some sites have buddy lists, and these can be used to great advantage. When I spot an easy mark, I put him on my buddy list. Then, I can easily check to see when the easy money is online and where it is playing. If none of my "buddies" are online, I avail myself of something that online rooms have but B&M casinos don't. The average pot size, and the percentage of players seeing the pot is a feature I find extremely helpful. The higher the percentage of players seeing the pot, the looser the game is. Before I join the game, I watch for a while and check the other players for notes. I keep notes on good players also, so I can quickly determine where the competition is sitting. I also check the money distribution, and how much is available. If there is no money on the table, there is no money to win. |
