PokerStars.com will be sponsoring the 2007 European Poker Tour, and has just announced a new event being added to the schedule, which will be held in Warsaw, Poland.
The preliminary event in Warsaw is scheduled to being on March 14-17, 2007. There will be a maximum capacity of 300 players, with the no limit Texas Hold 'em tournament taking place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
Chief Executive of the European Poker Tour, John Duthie, said, "An EPT tournament in Poland will help raise the game's profile in Eastern Europe, and we have secured a world class venue to host the event in Warsaw." "This tournament is not going to be televised, but I see this as an exciting first step for the tour," he added. The European Poker Tour is one of Europe's largest poker tournaments with over â,¬7 million paid out in prize money, with more than 500 players winning seats for the tour from PokerStars.com.
Some remaining events include the European Poker Tour Scandinavian Open, in Copenhagen, Denmark on January 17-20, 2007, French Open in Danville, France on February 20-24, 2007, Dortmund, Germany on March 8-11, 2007, and the Grand Final in Monte Carlo, Monaco on March 28-April 1, 2007.
