Humberto Brenes

"The Godfather of Costa Rican Players" began playing poker at the tender age of 7 with his father...That's over thiry-five years in total. No happy to see his father's generosity of returning the winnings to the other players, Brenes decided that he would play to win and keep his winnings...that's part of winning.

He and his brother, and Jose Rosenkrantz, are members of the exclusive circle of Central American poker players known as the "Costa Rica Connection."

His poker tournament playing career began about ten years ago and to this date, is the holder of two WSOP world championship bracelets. Brenes is also very successful ouside of the poker world as a father of three and owner a television station in Costa Rica called Univision, he also has a degree in Industrial Engineering and owns a home in Miami Lakes, Florida.
